I Need to Stop Having "Accidents"

As most of you know, I'm a reporter and radio personality by trade, kinda, I don't really get paid, but that's not the point here. The point is I enjoy reporting and the whole radio station experience. As a reporter I can meet a lot of important people and let some of my friends be on the news if they have been involved in something news worthy. The latter happened this past week. Last Friday (not yesterday, the one before that), the annual John Marshall Forensics tournament occurred. I saw all my old friends from Forensics that are still in high school. I figured, since most people don't even realize what forensics is, I could do a story on this. I interviewed one of my old friends then preceded to interview the director of forensics here at Marshall. As I interviewed, I noticed they had a shortage of judges. I went on to say, "If you guys need any more judges, I could help you out, I was in forensics in high school." She replied, "Why didn't you do it here?" The truth is I did go to her office really early in the year and sign up for the forensics team, I just got so caught up in the radio I never came back. I told her this and she said, "Well, the State Championship is next week if you'd like to do it." I didn't want to do it, I knew she wouldn't expect me to go to a tournament in no more then a week's notice, so I made the excuse, "I don't have anything prepared." She asked, "Have you ever done impromptu?" I'm actually an award winning impromptu speaker at the high school level, thus I meekly replied, "yes." Which was the meek sound of me signing my fate a week from that day. That brings me to here, I am now in my dorm room because I've already competed in my first round of impromptu. I sorta accidentally joined the Marshall University forensics team. How do I manage to do this, as if I wasn't busy enough. I guess I better get ready for my second round, Later Days.
